  • 3tbs mincemeat
  • 1 egg white
  • 1oz caster sugar

Mince Pies Recipe - Method
  1. Roll out the pastry thinly.
  2. Cut out 12 rounds with a 2.5 inch cutter and 12 rounds with a 2 inch cutter (for the lids).
  3. Grease patty tins and press the larger rounds into them.
  4. Place a little mincemeat into each.
  5. Beat the egg white until it is frothy
  6. Brush the edges of the filled pastry with egg white and put on the pastry tops
  7. Brush the tops with egg white and make a small hole with a knife in the top of each pie.
  8. Sprinkle with the castor sugar. Bake at 200 degrees C. for about 25 minutes.
