Carol Moon has joined Midlands Co-op Travel at its Ilkeston Co-op Travel branch in St Peter’s Street, Derby, as a Personal Travel Advisor (PTA).
With over 19 years’ experience in the travel sector, Carol’s expertise lies in putting together bespoke packages and tailor-made itineraries for customers. And her extensive travelling to locations such as Cuba, Bahamas, Seychelles, Malaysia, Borneo and Japan, means that Carol has first-hand knowledge of a lot of destinations.
This is the first PTA appointed in the Derbyshire region, although Midlands Co-op Travel has eight other PTAs working in Leicestershire, Warwickshire, South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
Regional Sales Manager, Alex Chapman, explained: “This appointment is a direct response to a growing number of customers in Derby who are looking for a more tailored and personal approach to their holiday.”
Carol works on an appointment booking system in order to find out exactly what her customers require. This includes details about their travel like and dislikes, how long they want to be away, particular sights and resorts they want to visit and their budget.
“The benefits of using my knowledge to create a bespoke holiday is that the itinerary will be designed solely for the customer concerned. From the departure airport to the airline to the resort and route, customers will be getting the exact holiday they want,” said Carol.
“I can develop tailor-made breaks for short or long haul destinations - it really is down to the individual. And it is also a very cost effective way of booking a holiday, because the customer is only paying for what they have requested.”
“Through the appointment booking system I can spend time with customer and talk to them to find out exactly what they are looking for from their holiday, what their likes and dislikes are, where they want to go and how much they want to spend,” Carol added. “Then I can put together the right package just for them.”
Tailor-made holidays are becoming more popular as customers are increasingly looking for something different from their annual break or for a distinctive holiday, such as a special anniversary or honeymoon, for example. Or it may be that the holiday they want is not in the standard tour operators’ brochures.
