Midlands Co-op's support for Fairtrade Fortnight is in the bag
The Co-op is launching the UK's first supermarket Fairtrade cotton Bag for Life, as part of its extensive support for Fairtrade Fortnight.
The Co-operative Bag for Life, is the first to be made using Fairtrade certified cotton and will initially be available from selected Midlands Co-op stores. It has been in stores from Monday 26 February, which coincided with the start of the Fortnight.
The new Fairtrade Bag for Life costs 99p and is made from unbleached, biodegradable cotton, which is hand washable to prolong life. As well as being less harmful to the environment, the Fairtrade cotton bags guarantee a fair price and a better deal for disadvantaged Indian cotton growers.
