Co-op first to roll out sustainable household paper range
The Co-op will be the first retailer to convert its entire own-brand household
paper range, including facial tissues, to material that has been completely
sourced from FSC-certified responsibly-managed forests and recycling facilities.
This is the first time that recycled tissue products have been FSC certified, and this is only possible because the material can be identified as 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Read more about sustainable household paper

Midlands Co-op's Support for Fairtrade Fortnight is in the Bag
The Co-op has launched the UK's first supermarket Fairtrade cotton Bag
for Life, as part of its extensive support for Fairtrade Fortnight.
The Co-operative Bag for Life, is the first to be made using Fairtrade certified cotton and will initially be available from selected Midlands Co-op stores. It has been in stores from Monday 26 February, which coincided with the start of the Fortnight. Read more about fairtrade cotton bag for life

One, has led to the installation of 14 roundabout-powered
pumps in South Africa within the first 12 months of it
going on sale at the Co-op.

Co-op puts its Weight behind World's Lightest Whisky Bottle
As well as minimising the amount of glass being used in packaging and
ultimately the amount of glass that ends up in landfill, the new bottle,
which weighs in at just 298 grams compared to 350 grams, is the first
commercially available 70cl bottle to break the 300 gram weight barrier.
The bottle sets a new "best in class" standard for the sector and will initially be used for the Co-op's top-selling own-label Scotch whisky. Read more about world's lightest whisky bottle
