A Lichfield superstore was in the frame recently, when it hosted a filming session.

Actress Helen Baxendale and actor Stephen Mangan took part in the filming at Midlands Co-op’s Boley Park Superstore in Ryknild Street.

The superstore was used as a location for part of a low-budget comedy called ‘Bono, Bob, Brian and Me’.

The film is about an explorer who is trying to raise the profile of climate change and a few of the scenes needed to be shot in a supermarket environment.

For agreeing to provide a location for the filming, Midlands Co-op received a donation of £100 for its staff-elected charity for 2007, the Alzheimer’s Society.

A date for the film release has yet to be confirmed
