A brand new funeral home was opened at Brook Street, Raunds on Wednesday 12 November.
Midlands Co-operative Funeral Service opened the home, at 59 Brook Street, Raunds, to serve the local community. The funeral home, the first one in the town, was opened by The Worshipful the Mayor of the Borough of Raunds Councillor Mr Peter Wathen and Dave Roberts, President, Midlands Co-operative Society.
The Funeral Home has two private chapels of rest, which were blessed on the day by Reverend Brian Leatherland, Reverend Shena Bell and Reverend Dave Warnock, Ministers for the Raunds’ neighbourhood.
As Wayne Dobson, Funeral Director points out: “I am very honoured to have been chosen to run the first funeral home in Raunds and look forward to getting out and about and meeting the local community.”
Wayne was joined on the day by his new colleagues Julie Stratford and Julie Rowlands, Funeral Administrators from the Raunds area and Wellingborough-local Jean Cooksley, Regional Manager for the new home.
Paul Webb, Head of Funeral for Midlands Co-op Funeral Services added: “We feel very privileged to bring this new service to the people of Raunds. I would like to thank everybody who has helped in the refurbishment of the building and I would like to personally wish Wayne and his colleagues well for the future.”
