A travel shop in Kings Heath, Birmingham, will be taking the Mickey – and the Minnie and the Goofy – this Saturday, 13 March, to raise money for charity.

To celebrate a sales promotion week offering 10% off all Disneyland Paris Co-op breaks bookings from Saturday 13 to 20 March, colleagues from Midlands Co-operative Travel on Scotts Corner will be holding a Disney? event in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association.

They will be dressing up as Disney? characters and holding fundraising activities including a children’s colouring competition to win a Disney? goodie bag with cuddly toy and a raffle to win a bottle of champagne.

Manager of Midlands Co-operative’s Kings Heath Travel Shop, Denise Matthews, said: “We wanted to do something fun to raise money for our new staff-elected charity, the MND Association, and with our exclusive offers next week and brand new Co-op Holidays Disney brochure being launched this month, we thought a Disney event would be perfect.

“Our costumes for this weekend will include the Evil Queen from Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Pocahontas, Jasmine and the Fairy Godmother. We hope that lots of people will come along and share in the fun – after all it is for a good cause.”

Midlands Co-operative Travel is the region’s largest independent travel business. As it is not owned by a tour operator or airline it is able to offer the best deals available from a wide variety of holiday companies as well as providing other travel related services such as insurance, commission-free currency and car hire.
