Tamworth Superstore Gets in a Quiz for British Heart Foundation
3 September
Staff from Midlands Co-operative Society’s Tamworth superstore are planning to get ‘quizzical’ for a second time this year in aid of charity.
The staff at the Superstore in Brent, Wilnecote, are planning a new charity quiz at the RAF Club in Lichfield Street in Tamworth on Thursday 11 September from 8.30pm (start) – with all profits from the event going to Midlands Co-op’s staff-elected charity for 2008 and 2009, the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
The store has raised over £5,000 for the BHF so far this year. Staff have taken part in various fundraising activities including a three peaks challenge, a sponsored exercise bike ride and a car boot sale to name just a few.
Manager of Midlands Co-op’s Tamworth Superstore, Jim Cunningham, said: “This will be our second quiz as the first one held in April proved very popular. We are asking for teams of up to six people to take part, have a fun night out and help us to raise as much money as possible for BHF. There are various prizes to be won on the night.”
Teams wishing to take part in the quiz, which costs £1 per person to enter, need to register in advance at Midlands Co-op’s Superstore in Wilnecote. The store is open daily from 8am until 8pm except Fridays when it is open until 9pm and Sundays when it is open from 10am to 4pm. Parking is free.
The British Heart Foundation is the nation’s heart charity, committed to saving lives through pioneering research, patient care and vital information. They rely on the generosity and support of people and businesses like Midlands Co-op to continue their life-saving work.
